Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 for an Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was just six years old. The year 1969 was the first time she participated in the Romanian Junior Games and finished 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. In her 1972 first international meet in an preolympics junior event that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975, she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. The athlete won four golds and one silver medals at her senior debut international competition, held in 1975. This was the first time she participated as a senior. In 1976, she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and became the first woman to ever dismount bars in parallel with the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The journey of Carol Wayne into the realm of entertainment started when she was a teenager. With her twin sister Nina Wayne, she joined traveling entertainment shows that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September, 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol's career began in entertainment during her teenage year. At the age of a girl she started her career as the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating performances that were accompanied by theatrical music.
